Gleision Colliery Appeal Fund


An Appeal fund has been set up to aid the families and dependants of Phillip Hill, 45, Garry Jenkins, 39, David Powell, 50, and Charles Breslin, 62, who died at the Gleision colliery near Pontardawe.

Tyrone O’Sullivan (Chairman, Tower Colliery) 
Wayne Thomas (General Secretary, NUM South Wales Area)

The NUM has agreed to donate £12,000 in total so far, £10,000 from the National Union and £2,000 from the NUM Yorkshire Area. I am sure that other Areas will follow suite now that a fund has been established and details of how to donate are known.
